James Jenkins (Jim) has over 20 years of experience in Program Management and Government Accounting. He is a Program Manager for the Financial Management Business Transformation Service (FMBTS) Program at the Department of Veteran Affairs (VA), currently focusing on Implementing a new financial management system across VA’s Central Offices and Veteran Business Administration (VBA). He started his career at the Department of Treasury, Bureau of Fiscal Service as an Accountant performing general ledger reconciliation support. After a few years, he became the project manager over the Intra-Governmental Payment and Collection (IPAC) system. He managed all user enhancements and major/minor functional and technical patch releases. In 2016, he joined the Department of Veteran Affairs, as a System accountant where he supported special projects that involved mitigation of some of the Departments material weaknesses. Projects to note are the VA’s consolidation of the Treasury Report on Receivables (TROR), summary to detailed transaction reconciliation reporting, and implementation of Veteran Affairs Time and Attendance (VATAS). He holds an MBA with an emphasis in project management, is a Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and received his B.S. in accounting from Norfolk State University.
